SIKHONA RESCUE CENTRE
Sikhona ~ "I Exist"
To provide a physically and psychologically safe space for abused women and neglected children in Kitengela to learn and grow.
We are gender-based violence recovery centre wherein at-risk women and children will be provided food, shelter, healthcare, legal representation and education.
Children will be nurtured and empowered through primary school at Rehoboth Learning Centre while at-risk women will be employed and educated through poultry farming and organic agriculture.
"Sikhona" translates from Zulu to mean, "I Exist".
Embracing our cornerstone value of inclusion - across cultures, gender, class, sexuality and religion - we at Sikhona Rescue Centre believe in recognizing the precious and interconnected nature of all human-life.
No matter what your background or identity, you exist. You take up space. You matter.
